Easy Tomato Basil Soup

How to make tomato basil soup
Combine the tomato puree, crushed tomatoes, and chicken broth in a soup pot or Dutch oven. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for ten to fifteen minutes. Add in the sugar and chopped basil, mixing well. Lower the heat further and stir in the heavy cream.

Ingredients
- 28 oz tomato puree
- 28 oz crushed tomatos
- 14.5 oz chicken broth
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 15-20 fresh basil leaves, chopped
Instructions
- In large saucepan or soup pot, bring the crushed tomatoes, puree, and chicken broth to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add sugar and chopped basil. Stir in well.
- Further reduce heat to low and stir in cream.
- Serve with a garnish of a basil leaf on top.
