Ingredients for Cheeseburger Sliders

  • 80/20 ground beef – 80/20 beef brings the perfect balance of fat and flavor. The extra fat helps the meat steam over the onions and creates that classic juicy White Castle texture.
  • Hawaiian King rolls – Hawaiian rolls give the sliders their soft, slightly sweet base. They soak up the onion‑beef juices and stay tender while still holding their shape.
  • one medium white onion – Finely minced onion builds the signature White Castle flavor. As it cooks under the beef, it releases steam that infuses the meat with moisture and sweetness.
  • Lipon Onion soup mix – This seasoning mix boosts the savory flavor and deepens the onion profile. It blends into the beef easily and gives the sliders that nostalgic fast‑food taste.
  • American cheese – American cheese melts into a smooth, creamy layer over the beef. It adds richness and gives the sliders that classic cheeseburger finish.
  • pickle chips – Pickle chips add a bright, tangy crunch that cuts through the richness. They deliver the iconic White Castle bite in every slider.
  • butter – Melted butter brushes onto the tops of the rolls and helps them toast to a soft golden finish. It adds flavor and gives the sliders a glossy look.
  • onion powder – Onion powder reinforces the fresh onion flavor and ties the whole slider together. It deepens the savory notes without overpowering the other ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg Hawaiian Rolls
  • 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
  • 1 small white onion diced
  • 1 pkg Lipton onion soup mix
  • 6 slices American cheese
  • 24 dill pickle chips
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Finely chop white onion and scatter on parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef and onion soup mix. Spread the mixture on top of the onions into a rectangular shape, a little larger than the Hawaiian rolls. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
  • Without separating the slider rolls, cut them in half horizontally with a serrated knife. Place the bottom layer into a 9×13 baking dish.
  • Using two spatulas, transfer the meat to the baking dish, placing it on top of the bottom rolls. Top with cheese. Add pickles on top. Place top buns on burgers.
  • Melt 4 tablespoons of butter. Add in 1 teaspoon onion powder and mix well. Brush this on top of the buns.
  • Bake for 7-8 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are slightly toasted.
